Workout to Conquer Cancer 2024
Held by Craig Lindsay Family
26 supporters
This is our fourth year participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer to get moving and support BC Cancer patients in honour of our beloved cousin and nephew Myles.
Myles passed away on June 1, 2022, at the age of 15, 15 months after being diagnosed with Diffuse Infiltrating Gastric cancer, and the day after we finished the May challenge in 2022. It is still difficult to imagine we won't be sending him daily updates and seeing his smile as we surpass goal after goal on his behalf, but we know he is still cheering is on! Myles was always delighted to watch the donations come in, and he appreciated all the donors' support and love so much. We know he will be with us in spirit and always walks with us, his grieving family and friends.
This May our family - consisting of Craig, Maryam, Sheyda, Daryan and Reyaneh Lindsay, is commited to working out every day in May to raise money for childhood cancer. Below are our individual goals and commitments for the month!
Craig - gym or walk Hope every day for 30 minutes, basketball tournament, big hike at end of May
Maryam - walking Hope for 30 minutes every day
Sheyda - walk/run 200km in May, big hike at end of May
Daryan - weight training 1 hour every day
Reyaneh - soccer or gym for 1 hour every day
All funds raised by our team, Miles for Myles, will go towards one of the BC Cancer Foundation's key priorities, pediatric cancer research led by Dr. Poul Sorensen and his colleagues at BC Cancer. Our goal for Miles for Myles this year is to raise $179,219! This will bring the four-year total to $600,000. Team Miles for Myles has had fantastic support over the past three years, which has allowed Myles's family and friends to accomplish so much, but kids facing cancer need more. Myles would expect us not to give up.
We sincerely thank you for any donations and support, and are very excited to surpass our goals for this month!!
