Welcome tO TEAM MILES FOR MYLES
Workout to Conquer Cancer 2024
Held by Trimetrics Physiotherapy
15 supporters
We are challenging our community to Workout to Conquer Cancer in honour of Myles Lindsay who passed away June 1, 2022 at age 15 from Gastric Cancer. Team Miles for Myles is raising funds this year for one of BC Cancer Foundation's key priorities, pediatric cancer research led by Dr. Poul Sorensen and his colleagues at BC Cancer. Dr. Sorensen's lab is currently focused on two urgent priorities within childhood cancer research:
- Targeting high-risk pediatric cancers with new immunotherapy approaches.
- Understanding and targeting stress adaptive pathways in high-risk pediatric cancers, and how these pathways lead to aggressive metastatic disease.
What is very exciting about both of these research streams is that they could lead to available treatment for pediatric cancer patients in as little as one to one and a half years! This is significant because up until now children have had very little access to immunotherapy and have had no treatment for aggressive metastatic disease.
The goal for Miles for Myles this year is to raise $179,219 bringing the four year total to $600,000! Team Miles for Myles has had amazing support over the past three years which has allowed Myles' family and friends to accomplish great things, but kids facing cancer need more. Myles would expect us to continue on.
So, we invite you to sign up at Trimetrics Physiotherapy for either a ball rolling class at 9:30am or a mat class at 10:30am on Saturday May 25, 2024. Please call or email the front desk to reserve info@trimetricsphysio.com or 604-982-0366. We are suggesting a minimum donation of $20 for the classes which can be made above by pressing the red DONATE button above. Trimetrics Physiotherapy will MATCH all donations made. These classes will fill up fast as there are 10 people per class.
Thank you in advance for your donations and support.
