One of the unfortunate things about spending more time on this planet is that you experience more people who are affected by cancer.

Wether its a close friend going through it, a loved one supporting someone going through it, or a worker in the healthcare field that sees it every day.

It seems like the list is getting exponentially longer.

I used to think, "With all this money raised, surely they should have a way to stop cancer by now..." but that's not what this is all about.

This is about making the lives of those individuals a little more comfortable as they battle cancer. Making their chance of survival higher. Making their quality of life afterwards better.

The Workout to Conquer Cancer initiative conveys that activity is important for us. Its effects only improve our quality of life, and help reduce the chance of diseases, like cancer, from ending it early.


It shows that together, we can support one another. The team I am apart of, Kelowna's Cancer Kickers, is really leveraging community by hosting several group activities to bring people together.

I have decided to set myself a lofty goal in order to create some hype and excitement through this month.

On MAY 31st I will be attempting to run 100km in under 12 hours, around a 2k loop on the Mission Park Greenway.

I invite anyone who would like to run, jog, walk, or bike in support of Workout to Conquer Cancer to do so on that day as well.
