It was December 2017 when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. My life was turned upside down & inside out. But I had to be resilient and fight this cancer head on. Step one major surgery. Step two fight through the chemotherapy. Success! But not so fast, in 2020 my hopes and dreams were once again crushed after learning the cancer had spread to my liver. Stage 4 cancer broke me. Although this time I was wiser and stronger. I had 60% of my liver removed, underwent chemotherapy for the second time around. Even though it was painful, both physically and mentally, I stayed strong and pushed myself to workout between treatments! This was during the pandemic. I joined an online fitness group - NRG Fitness Inc. which soon became one my saviours, and my fitness family. Today I know I am in best shape of my life and also living my best life. Words are not enough to show how thankful I am to those who helped me and continue to help me stay positive and live a healthy lifestyle. I would not be where I am today without the exceptional care at BC Cancer.
