One in two British Columbians will get cancer in their lifetime. Too many lives are cut short. I know too many people (many young) fighting a fight they ahouldn't have to. Too many people facing cancer trends in their families that aren't yet understood.
The cancer that has hit our family has no screening and no known molecular profile so you can only hope it presents itself early and responds to treatment designed for other cancers.
BC Cancer Agency has provided (and continues to provide) our family with prompt, amazing care and I am eternally grateful. But they can only be as good as today's knowledge and tools. We have the power to change what's possible.
