My Story
Hearing the words your mom has colon cancer had turned my world upside down. It had never occurred to me that the feeling of losing someone so close to me can be that real. Despite facing fear and uncertainty about what was going to happen, I can truly say that, through first-hand experience, our family is fortunate and grateful to have the support of BC Cancer Agencys leading edge cancer research, technology and advanced personalized treatment for my mom.
Chemotherapy could have long term side effects. With the generous support of donors, BC Cancer Agency is able to advance in science and technology and provide better treatments with fewer side effects to my mom. This means the world to us and those who are undergoing chemotherapy and their families.
Dr. Metcalf, my moms oncologist, the nurses and volunteers at BC Cancer Agency all played an important role in my moms diagnosis, treatment, surgery and post-op recovery, and we need generous donors to make supporting research, care and infrastructure possible!

This May, I will be moving every single day to raise funds for life-saving research and care at BC Cancer. I will move for the peple who cannot and for every survivor who now feels strong.
This challenge is more than exercise it's about coming together to go beyond limits in making an impact for the 80,000 British Columbians facing cancer each year.
