Today Was A Good Day
Held by Nilton Praticante
2023
--------------------------------------------------
I'm happy to be taking part in this important initiative for the 3rd year running. Thank you to everyone that's donated over the past two years (over $10k raised!). Have a read at my story below. I'll again be sweating my way through May to bring awareness to the cause, please show your support by donating!
A memory that's stuck with me throughout the years is when my Dad asked me to shave his head for the first time. As emotional as that moment was, it's hit me this year that I'm only 8 years away from the age my Dad was when he passed.
I've set a personal goal of $1500 this year. If I get to that point, I'll shave my head on June 1st, the 16th anniversary of his passing.
Let's get moving!

I'm happy to be taking part in such a great cause again! This year i'll be joining Team Kelly's Cancer Kickers to raise funds for patients, survivors and those we've lost. Thanks to everyone that took part in this with me and donated to the cause last year (over $5k raised thanks to you!). Have a read below to my story and why this initiave has had such a meaningful impact on me. This challenge is more than exercise, it's about joining a community who know that together we can make an impact for those we love and have loved.
I'll again be sweating my way through May, please show your support by making a donation.
Thank you!

"Hey Dad, how ya feeling today?"
"Hi Luis, how are things going?"
"Today was a good day" he'd say.
It seemed no amount of pain, discomfort or disorientation would negatively affect the fact that my Dad knew he was dying. A second inoperable brain tumour was forming after successful surgery removed the first. Despite the shock, the process, the battle, he remained positive through it all, taking full advantage of the days he had left.
His drive, strength, and positive demeanor has always resonated with me. With fitness being an outlet for my personal self-care and well-being, I was introduced to this initiative which I found to be incredibly fitting.
This May, Im participating in "Workout to Conquer Cancer" to get moving and support BC Cancer patients. I'm joining others across the province and beyond to move, no matter where we are, every single day of the month.
I've committed to move and raise funds for patients, survivors and those we've lost. This challenge is more than exercise, it's about joining a community who know that together we can make an impact for those we love and have loved.
I'll be sweating my way through May, please show your support by making a donation today.
Thank you!
