This May I'm participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer to get moving and support BC Cancer patients!
I am SO excited to be back!! But not just; that i hit my 5 year cancerversary last year and thought what better way to graduate than to end my 5th year by reforming Yana's Angels !!
One of my besties and I formed our team back in 2017 - it was just her and I that first year, by 2019 (our third year in) our team had grown and we had surpassed our team goal by over $2000. What started as something to motivate me to get back out there after a journey with treatment turned into something bigger. I made amazing friends, met amazing people and had an oppurtunities to not just share my story, by use my story to spread awareness on oral cancer and give back to a community that gave to me so unconditionally.
This year Yana's Angel's will be dedicating May to Consolacion T. Andres. Consolacion is Jennifer Andre's dear aunt who fought hard against cancer and left us too soon. Jen, our co-captain started Yana's angels in support of me and my fight to remind I AM NOT ALONE; she has been with me every step of the way and by my side during each Workout to Conquer Cancer.
I'm joining others across the province and beyond to move, no matter where we are, every single day of the month.
THIS IS PERSONAL.
I've been a witness, a support person and a thriver.
One in two British Columbians are impacted by cancer. I've committed to move and raise funds for patients, survivors and those we've lost. This challenge is more than exercise, it's about joining a community who know that together we can make an impact for those we love and have loved.
So, as I get ready to sweat my way through May, please show your support by making a donation today.
